Click on the "More" tab in the left-hand menu.
Select "Settings and privacy" from the drop-down menu.
Click on the "Your account" tab.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Deactivate your account" button.
Enter your password and click on the "Deactivate account" button.
Your account will be deactivated and you will have 30 days to reactivate it before it is permanently deleted.

When you delete your Twitter account, your profile, tweets, and other account data will be permanently deleted. However, Twitter may retain some of your data, such as your IP address and usage data, for internal purposes.
You have 30 days to reactivate your Twitter account after you delete it. After 30 days, your account will be permanently deleted and you will not be able to recover it.
Twitter does not publish a retention period for closed accounts. If the timeline matters to you, ask Twitter support for written confirmation of when your data is removed, and what is retained for legal or accounting reasons.
Deleting your account means: Loss of account data; Loss of followers and connections. Export or download anything you want to keep before you begin â it is normally not recoverable afterwards.
